At Covington Drive, “We Love People”. Our Christian education classes encompass all ages and all learning styles. We strive to make the Word of God relevant in the lives of our students. We invite you to come, bring your family and friends, and join us as we study to show ourselves approve unto God….
Our Christian Education department believes and practices a sound teaching philosophy based on the Word of God. We understand the teaching-learning process includes the unique learning styles God has placed within each of us. We practice the biblical teaching style that focuses on being a servant teacher. We use a variety of teaching techniques and materials. Most importantly, here at Covington, you will find dedicated teachers eager to impart the life changing benefits found only in God’s Holy Word. We believe in teaching the whole man.
We presently have nine Christian education classes, which cater to the varying developmental stages and needs of our students:
1. Candle Light Nursery – 6 months to three years
2. Cherry Blossom – 4 to 5 years
3. Conquerors – 6 to 10 years
4. Champs – 11 to 14 years
5. Untouchable – 15 to 19 years
6. Truth Bearers – 20 to 35 years
7. Faithful Stewards – 36 to 50 years
8. Chosen Generation – 51 and up
9. Warriors – 51 and up
Each year, we conduct a family and friends outreach campaign, which involves a day of fun and out-door activities. This is normally held on the first weekend of November. This is a time where we place special emphasis on the needs of our neighbors and community. God is well pleased when we put the needs of others before our own. This event has proven to be a blessing for many families and friends. For 2009, we are planning for an even bigger event. Remember, here at Covington, we “LOVE PEOPLE”.
